Yasar Bastawala, a 35-year-old electrician from Juhapura, Gujarat, carries with him the memories of a difficult past. After the devastating earthquake that struck Gujarat in 2001, financial hardships forced him to leave school in Grade 9, putting his dreams on hold. Years passed, and life became a series of routine struggles. But a chance encounter changed everything—Yasar learned about Masoom’s Juhapura Evening Learning Center (ELC) in Juhapura, Gujarat and decided to take a leap of faith.

Joining the program was no easy decision. Attending classes meant closing his shop early, sacrificing precious work hours and income. But Yasar’s determination was stronger than his challenges. With the comprehensive support Masoom provided—resources, mentorship, and a nurturing environment—he rediscovered his passion for learning. This newfound commitment and the encouragement from Masoom rekindled Yasar’s self-confidence and desire for growth.

Today, Yasar is pursuing a diploma in Electrical Engineering at a government polytechnic. The knowledge he has gained has not only enriched his understanding but has also earned him greater respect in his field. Masoom’s intervention has done more than educate—it has empowered Yasar to believe in his potential and envision a brighter future.

With renewed hope and ambition, Yasar dreams of advancing further in his profession and achieving his diploma degree. His journey reminds us all that life is not about where we begin but how we rise and move forward, embracing each new opportunity to grow.
