Masoom hosts Headmasters Residential Meeting in Lonavala, Maharashtra

Masoom organized a Headmasters Residential Meeting in Lonavala on September 21st and 22nd. The event brought together 77 headmasters from 102 night schools across Maharashtra. Over the course of two days, the meeting provided a platform for in-depth discussions on important topics such as school enrollments, attendance, the School Management and Development Committees (SMDC), Alumni Associations, and the SSC Improvement Plan. The primary goal of the meeting was to address ongoing challenges and develop strategic solutions to enhance the quality of education in night schools.

During the meeting, one of the main decisions made was to work on increasing student enrollment in all schools to ensure none of them are struggling. It was also agreed that all schools will strive to maintain a minimum attendance of 60% in the future. The active involvement of SMDC stakeholders was highlighted, with the aim of securing 100% of the necessary materials for their respective schools. Additionally, each night school will establish an Alumni Association, with at least five alumni participating in activities to support the school’s development.

During the discussions, a comprehensive six-month action plan was developed outlining steps to address Masoom’s priorities and ensure continued progress. The Masoom team also shared progress updates on the ongoing “Tech on Wheels” initiative, which involves specially designed mobile units to deliver technological education to students. Additionally, the Career Cell team offered an update on the various career development programs to support personal and professional growth. These include short-term skilling and long-term skilling opportunities, emphasizing the importance of career development in enhancing students’ futures.

The event also featured stalls showcasing products and services created by Masoom’s Entrepreneurship students. This highlighted the successful outcomes of the Entrepreneur Development Program, which is part of Masoom’s broader Night School Transformation Program. The aim of this initiative is to improve the educational infrastructure and support systems within night schools, ensuring that students receive quality education.

Masoom expresses its gratitude to all the headmasters for their dedication and valuable contributions. Their active involvement will play a crucial role in shaping the future of education in Maharashtra’s night schools. Together, we are committed to transforming the educational landscape for students across the state, ensuring that the many benefits of night schools are realized and accessible to all.
