The Cathedral and John Connon School Presents a Music Concert for Charity
Encore 2025
About Encore
Encore, a Music Concert for Charity was first started in 2007 by the students of the Cathedral and John Connon School. It was a small endeavour started to find a way to support underprivileged communities and give back to society. After all these years, Encore has only grown to greater heights, allowing us to make a more significant difference in our community.
Encore allows students to shape the future in a unique manner. At Encore, students are given a platform to display their extraordinary musical talents while raising funds for organizations to positively influence society.
Proceeds raised through this event would benefit the students of Masoom.
About Masoom
Established in 2008 by Ms. Nikita Ketkar, Masoom is a pioneering non-profit that transforms the lives of working youth, secondary school dropouts, and marginalized learners by providing them with access to education, employability skills and digital empowerment.
Through its flagship Night School Transformation Program, Masoom has upgraded 100 night government schools in Maharashtra, benefiting over 84,000 students with improved infrastructure, academics, governance, and nutrition. In 2024, these schools achieved an 80% SSC pass rate, nearly double the baseline from when the program began.
In areas where night schools are not available, Masoom’s 29 Evening Learning Centers in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand offer flexible, community-based education, serving 6500+ learners and achieving impressive pass and attendance rates.
The Career Cell, which ensures education leads to employability, has guided over 21,000 students, resulting in 2,500 job placements, 4,600 upskilled learners, and 260 emerging entrepreneurs. Masoom’s Tech on Wheels initiative, a fleet of six fully equipped mobile learning buses, brings computer literacy, vocational training, and interactive learning directly to underserved communities, reaching 9,500 learners.
Whether it’s a young woman balancing work and study, a grandmother learning to read at 60, or a youth entering formal employment for the first time, Masoom empowers learning, livelihoods, and lasting change.
“The help received from Masoom has greatly reduced the financial burden for needy students like me. I genuinely hope that other students, especially those looking to resume their education after a long break, will take advantage of the support provided by Masoom. The encouragement and motivation given by Masoom is truly comforting for individuals like me.”
